I`m Hiker Steve.
My love for the outdoors started when I was very young. My parents took me camping throughout BC, as I grew up I started camping with friends, sometimes biking to the campsite, sometimes hiking to the campsite. It wasn’t until 2010 that I really got into hiking, a friend of mine asked me to go on an overnight backpacking trip. I had the best time of my life on that trip. Now every year I make sure I do at least one overnight trip. There is something about being in the outdoors on a hike, it refreshes you, takes you away from all the stress of the city. Personally, I love hikes where I can get a glimpse into the past, an old logging site, or railway. Something about wondering, what it must have been like way back then. I try to find hikes I haven’t done before that might have some history to them.
Besides all the hiking, my wife and I love to explore around our great province, we are always doing something, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, or taking our dog out for walks. When we are not in the city we also like to explore around at our Cabin in the Cariboo, where we expand our outdoor life onto the water, with fishing, water skiing, canoeing, and kayaking.
I love sharing my experiences with others, especially when I can get them to come along and enjoy it with me.

Hello We Are
We started hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in small sections back in 2012. A few short months after our first hike, Patti was diagnosed with invasive, aggressive breast cancer that consumed our lives. We believed our hiking days were over. But, Patti instead, insisted we continue hiking whenever she was well enough. Neither surgery, nor chemo, not radiation, depression nor anger stopped her. We hiked on.Now, five years later, we are healthy and 1100 miles into our goal of completing the entire trail. This June, 2018, we will step back on the trail to finish those 1550 miles left. After completing the trail, we expect to continue long-distance hiking, exploring, enjoying and living life.
